A public opinion study conducted by Marsh Copsey Associates and the Social Research Bureau and published in Ziarul de Constanța in 2009, shows that the majority of Romanians regret the Ceausescu era, the answers being detailed as follows:

60%-today's politicians are more corrupt compared to the ones in Ceausescu's period

58.4%-public order was much better than it is today.

55.8%-respect for the common man was greater then.

73%- regret the assassination of Nicolae Ceausescu and his wife.

Another opinion poll where Romanians can still vote just now, as I am writing these lines, shows that 93% of them consider that Ceausescu has been a good leader for Romania and only 7% believe the contrary.
